Workshop Objectives
The primary objective of this workshop is to establish a comprehensive foundation in the art of sewing. A basic understanding of sewing is preferred as it will involve only a swift introduction to the machinery and the basic necessary shapes - straight lines, angles, and curves, before delving into the sewing of hems and seams, and the techniques of pleating and gathering. Throughout, participants will engage in the sewing of a skirt, shirt, pants and a variety of related details, such as the zipper fly, patch pockets, Italian round pockets, and welt pockets. Each participant will complete the course with the construction of a shirt in a fabric of their choosing.
